Projection

Ever since black-and-white and ‘silent’ films, the ‘magic’ of cinema has been its ability to transport us ‘into’ a story and thoroughly engage us for an hour or two. Even in its earliest form, cinema has been something akin to virtual reality. Lights dim and all we see is the picture and all we hear is the sound – the storyteller, has a direct avenue into our imagination. Cinema at home can only be realized with projection – television, even at its largest, is a very much more ordinary experience.
